EXION in San Diego

Serving Scripps Ranch, Poway, Rancho Bernardo, Mira Mesa, and the greater San Diego area.

EXION is an FDA-cleared radiofrequency platform from BTL that runs several different applicators from a single system. That matters practically rather than technically: instead of choosing whichever treatment a clinic happens to own, we can match the applicator to the concern, and combine them across a plan when that makes sense.

All four use radiofrequency, and all four work by prompting your own fibroblasts to produce collagen and elastin. What changes is the depth, the delivery, and the target.

EXION Fractional RF (microneedling)

This is radiofrequency microneedling, and it is the deepest of the four. Ultra-fine insulated needles deliver controlled RF energy into the dermis in a fractional pattern, creating a healing response that produces new collagen over the following weeks. AI-guided energy delivery allows a single pass rather than the repeated passes older devices required, which most patients find considerably more comfortable.

It is the right tool for acne scarring, textural irregularity, deeper lines, and laxity that surface treatments cannot reach. Expect redness, warmth, and a rough sandpaper texture for one to three days afterward. Most protocols run three sessions.

EXION Face

EXION Face pairs monopolar radiofrequency with targeted ultrasound and is non-ablative, meaning nothing breaks the skin surface. The combination creates thermal and mechanical stress in the deeper dermis, which stimulates fibroblasts to produce hyaluronic acid, collagen, and elastin. Hyaluronic acid is the molecule that holds water in the skin, which is why the effect reads as hydration and fullness rather than just tightening.

Dedicated applicators allow treatment around the eyes, where the skin is thinnest and most treatments cannot go. There is essentially no downtime.

EXION Clear RF

Clear RF is the surface-level applicator. It glides across the skin delivering controlled radiofrequency with smart microablation, resurfacing the epidermis and upper dermis rather than driving energy deep. It is aimed at tone and texture concerns: dullness, uneven pigmentation, red and brown spots, rough surface quality, and the marks acne leaves behind.

Sessions typically run 20 to 30 minutes and recovery is short, usually redness and warmth that settle within hours to a day. Where active acne is part of the picture, we will evaluate that properly at consultation rather than assuming a device is the answer, since acne usually has drivers worth investigating.

EXION Body

EXION Body applies the same radiofrequency and targeted ultrasound combination through a larger applicator, with cooling added, to address skin laxity and localized fat on the body. Common areas include the abdomen, flanks, arms, and thighs.

A word on expectations. This is a skin quality and localized fat treatment, not a weight loss treatment, and it is not a substitute for the metabolic work that actually changes body composition. At Solveris that distinction is the whole point: if what is driving the concern is insulin resistance, hormones, or muscle loss, we would rather address that first and use the device where it genuinely adds something.

Women's intimate health

Alongside the four aesthetic applicators, we offer EMFEMME 360, a radiofrequency treatment used in women's intimate health. That page sets out plainly what the device is and is not FDA-cleared for, which is information worth having before you compare providers.

How we decide which applicator

Honestly, most people do not need all four. The consultation exists to work out which one fits the concern, whether a series makes sense, and whether the thing bothering you is even a skin problem in the first place. Skin quality reflects hormones, thyroid function, nutrient status, inflammation, and sleep, and treating the surface while ignoring the cause tends to disappoint people.

Safety and suitability

Radiofrequency does not target melanin the way many lasers do, which makes EXION generally well suited across skin types. That is not the same as risk-free. Temporary pigment change, prolonged redness, and rarely infection are recognized risks, particularly in richer skin tones, and correct settings plus disciplined sun protection afterward are what keep them uncommon. Pregnancy, certain implanted devices, and active infection in the treatment area are among the reasons we may not treat.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from regular microneedling?

Regular microneedling relies on the micro-injury alone. Fractional RF adds radiofrequency heating through insulated needles, reaching deeper dermal layers in the same pass.

Which applicator do I need?

That is what the consultation determines. Depth of concern, skin type, downtime tolerance, and what else is going on medically all factor in.

How long until I see results?

Collagen remodeling is slow. Expect changes to build over several weeks after a session, with the fullest effect typically a few months after completing a series.

Can EXION be combined with EMFACE?

They address different layers, so yes, they are often discussed together. EMFACE works on facial muscle and skin, while EXION works on skin quality and structure. Whether combining them suits you is a clinical decision, not a package deal.

Do you offer EXION near Scripps Ranch, Poway, or Rancho Bernardo?

Yes, along with Mira Mesa and the greater San Diego area.
